This recipe is tailored for the Oster Expressbake bread machine. The water and beer liquid base produces a nice French-style loaf with a characteristic crispy crust and a more open crumb than other bread machine recipes that I have tried.
This recipe is gluten free and contains both sweet and savory flavors. It is also quite pretty due to the contrast of colors from the black rice, brown rice, and the red lentils and optional cranberries.
Since becoming a vegetarian, I was looking for Sweet Potato recipes that don’t involve marshmallows and cranberry recipes that don’t involve gelatin. After making this, I don’t miss any of that. Seriously – this is like the best thing I’ve tasted in forever and is perfect for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

i found this recipe in a local magazine called “Saltscapes” Jim Lahey of the Sullivan Street Bakery in New York devides this tasty bread and it’s unique cooking method. A version of this recipe first appeared in the New York Time in November 2006. I tried it, and it super delicious!!
